Scanning various websites I have come across various criticisms of the emerging church. I'd have to admit I have some concerns however they generally seem to be based on fundamental Biblical principles. Most of the critcisms attack style rather than substance. There is a rather nasty debate about contextualisation going around which I have yet to get to he bottom of.
I wish that those who have concerns would address them in a reasonable and rational way rather than lobbing ecclesiastical bombshells just to make a point. I do not think the heart of the emerging church movement is toto take advantage of people or misrepresent the gospel. And if you are convinced they are off track, get into dialogue with them and biblically argue the issue. If you have some venom you need to dispense of, use it on those who truly misrepresent the gospel and take advantage of the vulnerable. You know who I mean..............

Daily Grizzle - Christian/Worship Music
Sick to death of Worship Music written to a formula? Tired of moronic "Contemporary Christian music" Written to sell CD's rather than glorify God?
In Australia we are about to be hit by another Hillsong Conference which will mean Houston & Co will pack in the conference package a new CD to distibute to the masses. For those who don't know, Hillsong is a bit of a monolith, intent on rolling thru Australian Churches and making us all feel compelled to ditch every other style of worship, and also to make us feel incredibly inadequate. Look out for more formula inspired music!!
I am also Sick to death of moronic, inane, vacuous Christian Music. I stopped listening to Christian Music (mostly) after Steve Taylor gave up writing it. No, I am not stuck in the 80's, I have just not found anything remotley as challenging and of musical value. The stuff on the local Christian station all sounds like Kylie Minogue musically and theologically. Where is the music to inspire faith and bring people to their knees???
Last Grizzle - Australian Christian Bands - If you feel compelled to go to America to make some money don't tell me that "God called you there". The last thing America needs is another Christian band, so don't pretend that its a ministry calling. Thats like saying Benny Hinn goes to Latin America to promote social justice! Be honest with yourselves guys, and be warned, if you get a Dove award, you have indeed received your reward!!!
That's all for now, Feel free to respond with fire or ice, but no naughty words or I will cry.
